‘Under One Roof’ brings together work by 36 Newcastle University BA Fine Art graduates of the class of 2020, at the Great North Museum: Hancock, for the first time since their studies were disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic and they were denied the chance to show their work in the annual Degree Show Exhibition – one of the highlights of the University calendar.

‘Under One Roof’ gives the participating artists the opportunity to finally show their work in person after an almost two-year delay. It also provides an opportunity for the artists to come together again as a community, many having left Newcastle following graduation. Celebrated in this milestone exhibition is a mix of exciting and individual artistic voices working across painting, sculpture, installation, performance and new media.

‘Under One Roof’ coincides with the Newcastle University BA Fine Art Degree Show 2022 exhibition by current students, taking place across the Fine Art Department and Hatton Gallery, 7-21 June 2022.

Newcastle University Fine Art Department, the project curators and organisers gratefully acknowledge funding support for this exhibition from the School of Arts and Cultures and the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences of Newcastle University, the Bartlett Endowment, and support from exhibition partners Great North Museum: Hancock and Vane.
